Tommy Dean Feagins, 62, resident of Fort Scott, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at his home. He was born August 11, 1949, in Fort Scott, the son of Thomas Harold and Mary Louise Cullen Feagins. Tommy had served with the United States Army during both the Korean and Vietnam eras. Following his military service Tommy had worked for both Extrusions in Fort Scott and later Superior Industries in Pittsburg. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Restoration Branch. He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include four brothers, Jerry Duaine Feagins and wife, Pam, Greenfield, Mo., Thomas H. Feagins, Jr., of Vermont, Timothy Feagins and wife, Carol, Chanute, and Mike Feagins, Wichita; four sisters, Mary Belle Thornhill, Pittsburg, Janet Marie Knodel and husband, Leonard, Independence, Mo., Cindy Lou Fangrow, Canton, and Debra Sue Schroeder and husband, Chuck, of Louisiana. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Rick and Danny Feagins.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 18 at the U. S. National Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the Olson Frary Burkhart Post #1165 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Friends and family may meet at the Cheney Witt Chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
