Ruth Utley, 72, Humboldt, died Monday, June 4, 2012 at the Heritage Care Center, Chanute.

Ruth was born in Wichita on Sept. 21, 1939 the daughter of James and Ruth Conner Audiss Dalton. She graduated from Iola High School in 1957.

She worked as a housekeeping supervisor for Crossroads Hotel, Iola, for many years, and had later worked as an assembler for Tramec of Iola until flooding overtook the plant.

Ruth is survived by her children, Amanda Keller, Chanute; Yolanda Habiger and husband Troy, Humboldt; and Chad Utley, Humboldt; a brother, Jim Dalton, Wichita; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Bob Audiss, and a sister Mary Mefford.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 11 at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Iola.

Friends may call on Monday, June 11, from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Memorials in her name may be made to the American Cancer society, and may be left with the funeral home.
