Edwin Eugene Noland, 61, Lawrence, died Tuesday, April 17 at the US Veteran’s Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.

Edwin was born March 27, 1951, in El Dorado, the son of Edsel E. and Edilee Beggs Noland.

He graduated from Chanute High School. He served his country in the United States Army for two years. Edwin was a lifetime member of the American Legion Boerstler-May Post 170 and the First United Methodist Church.

Edwin is survived by his parents, Edsel and Edilee Noland of Chanute; a dear companion of many years, Pam Ponsar, Lawrence; three sisters, Shari Ratliff and husband, Mickey, Chanute, Tari Noland, Toronto, and Joni Baker, El Dorado; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ted Noland, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 20 at the First United Methodist Church in Chanute. Burial will follow in the Neosho County Cemetery.

The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Chanute.

Memorials in his name may be made to The Chanute Relay for Life and may be left with the funeral home.
