Vicki Lynn Howell, 62, Chanute, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

Vicki was born in Chanute on Nov. 21, 1949, the daughter of Chet and Dorothy Burns Bowman. She graduated from Wilbur, Neb. High School and attended one year of college.

She was united in marriage to Roy “Monk” Howell on April 1, 1968 in Chanute. He survives, of the home.

Vicki worked as a landfill attendant for the City of Chanute for 17 and a half years.

She was a member of the Lady Elks, American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Along with her husband Roy, she is survived by her children, Corey Howell and his wife, Amanda, and Marc Howell and his wife, Becky, all of Chanute; grandchildren, Tanya Wimsett, Cody Howell, Nathan Howell and Hailey Turley; a great-grandchild, Emma Noland; a stepson, Scott Howell, Wichita; five brothers, Mike Bowman, Columbus, Terry Bowman, Bartlesville, Okla., Jerry Bowman, Chanute, Troy Bowman, Wichita, and Tom Diebolt, Seattle, Wash.; and a sister, Sheila Davis, Phoenix, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Butch Bowman.

Cremation has taken place.

No services are planned at this time.

Memorials in her name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and may be left with the funeral home.
