Stanley “Joe” Culbertson, 63, lifelong resident of Fredonia, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Fredonia Regional Hospital.¬† He was born July 11, 1948 in Independence, the son of Orval “Shorty” and Otheal E. Bennett Culbertson.¬† Joe was a graduate of Fredonia High School.¬† He was employed by the City of Fredonia for many years as the trash truck driver.¬†

On Nov. 7, 1970 in Fredonia, Joe was united in marriage to Terri Chilcott.  Terri survives, of the home.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Dale Culbertson, Tyler, Texas, Joey Culbertson, Fredonia; four sisters, Phyllis Doane, Fredonia, Kerry Traphagen, Fredonia, Taffy Busch, Iola, Minnie Culbertson, Fredonia; two brothers, Benny Culbertson, Fredonia, Timmy Culbertson, Mound City; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 4 at Timmons Funeral Home.¬† A private burial will be held at Fredonia City Cemetery.¬† The family will receive friends this evening, 6-8 p.m. at Timmons Funeral Home.¬† A memorial has been established in Joe’s name with the American Heart Association and contributions can be sent to the funeral home, PO Box 168, Fredonia, KS, 66736.¬† Words of condolence for the family may be sent to www.timmonsfuneralhome.com.¬†
