Lois E. Custer, 83, Chautauqua, died Saturday, January 17, 2009, at Pleasant Valley Manor, Sedan.

She was born April 28, 1925, in Chelsea, Okla., to John W. and Elizabeth Katherine Aday Hart.

She married Robert E. Custer on June 10, 1946, in Sedan. He died on October 16, 1990.

She was a housewife and a member of the Chautauqua Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Spire, Chanute; a granddaughter; a grandson; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edith Bowman and Jean McGill.

She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Chautauqua Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Chautauqua under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, Sedan.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
