Samuel Dean Claibourn, 56, a longtime resident of Wilson County, died Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born June 22, 1955 in Fredonia, the son of Buddy Dean and Nellie Shay Claibourn.

Sam attended high school in Neodesha and graduated with the class of 1973.

Sam’s survivors include his mother, Nellie Claibourn, Fredonia; two children, Amy Jacot, South Coffeyville, Okla., Jarrod Claibourn, Fredonia; two sisters, Cathy Carlson. Yates Center, Melissa Shoaf, Fredonia; two brothers, Warren Claibourn, Altoona, Oren Claibourn, Joplin, Mo.; six grandchildren

He was preceded in death by one son Jason Dean Claibourn.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14 at the Cornerstone Christian Church in Fredonia. Inurnment will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery.
