Edith Arlene Moon, 94, formerly of Chanute, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Hawthorn Glen Care Center, Monroe, Ohio.

Arlene was born Jan. 14, 1918 in Chanute, the daughter of Harvey and Carrie Deck. She graduated from Toronto High School.

She was united in marriage to Boyd C. Moon, July 21, 1938. They made their home in Chanute. Boyd preceded her in death, October, 1989.

Arlene was the proprietor of Arlene’s Beauty Shop, Chanute, establishing the business in 1959.

She is survived by her son, Steven Moon and wife Sandra, Olathe; her daughter, Donna Haskins and husband, Bob, Monroe, Ohio; and a sister, Joan Washburn, Downey, Calif.; six grandchildren, Scott Haskins, London, Ohio, Erin Robinson, Powell, Ohio, Jason Haskins, Upper Arlington, Ohio, Megan Howerton, Lebanon, Ohio, Kylee Sharp, Lawrence, and Ashley Whitham, Olathe; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 12 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Chanute.
