David Theodore King, 56, Erie, died Thursday, January 15, 2009, at Labette Health. His death followed a short illness, but was unexpected.
He was born Dec. 31, 1952, at Chillicothe, Mo., to William Raymond Sr. and Dorothy Ellis King.
He served a year in the First Cavalry Div. of the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas.
At the time of his death he was employed with Quest Cherokee.
He married Loretta A. Vincent on May 20, 1988, at Stark. She survives.
He was a member of the Friends Church at Stark.
Other survivors include a son, Jason King, of the home; his mother, Dorothy King, Kingsford Heights, Ind.; four brothers, Dale King, Wamego, Terry and Matthew King, both of Stark, and Tim Morris, Eldorado; and four sisters, Kay Schultz, Kingsford Heights, Ind., and Angie Harris, Tracy Morris and Billie Jo Reddick, all of Chanute.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Raymond King Sr., and three brothers, Billy Ray, Rick and Jerry King.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Friends Church, Stark. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery under the direction of Pierce-Carson-Wall, Erie.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
