Shelly M. Wasson Shay, 39, a resident of the Benedict and Fredonia area for 27 years, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Harry Hynes Hospice at Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center. She was born July 30, 1971 in Stella, Mo., to Wayne and Mary Welsh Wasson. Shelly was a member of the Fredonia High School Class of 1989.

Survivors include a daughter, Stacia VanHouden, Benedict; a son, William Pierpoint, Benedict; her parents, Mary and Dennis Lamb, Benedict; her brother, Kelly Welsh, Benedict; two grandmothers, Marilyn Lamb, Benedict, Violet Williams, Eureka.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 15 at Timmons Funeral Home.
