Dean was born Nov. 23, 1946, in Chanute, the son of Harold and Faye Martin Morris. He graduated from Yates Center High School and Allen County Community College. He served in the National Guard for six years.
On April 28, 1967, he married Elaine Newland. They moved back to Yates Center in 1978. He was in the cattle and oil business and retired from Gates Rubber Company in 2010.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine, of the home; three children, Heather Crough, Topeka, Angie Morris, Wichita, and Justin Morris, Yates Center; and two granddaughters.
Services will be held 10:30 a.m. today, April 5 at the United Methodist Church in Yates Center. Burial will follow in Yates Center Cemetery.
The family will meet with friends from 7 to 8 Monday at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center.
