Trina DeMeritt, 35, Erie, died Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Miami County Medical Center at Paola from injuries sustained in an auto accident that occurred near Colony.

She was born Sept. 14, 1975 at Chanute, a daughter of Bruce D. and Luanna Sarnicola Wolken. She was raised at Erie and attended school there. She attended Nurse’s School at Labette Community College and was currently employed at the Anderson County Hospital in Garnett as a Registered Nurse.

On July 11, 2002 she and Kelly W. DeMeritt were united in marriage at Miami, Okla.

She loved antiques and enjoyed the outdoors.

Survivors include her husband, Kelly DeMeritt, of the home; three sons, Dakota, Jonah and Noah Demeritt, all of the home; her mother, Luanna Wolken, Joplin, Mo.; three sisters, Shasta Wolken, Topeka, Dana Wolken, Topeka, Beth Wolken, Nebraska; her paternal grandmother, Frances Wolken, Erie, her maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Sarnicola, Joplin, Mo.; her grandmother in-law, Mary Ellen Walters, Erie; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bruce Wolken, her paternal grandfather, Harmon Wolken, and her maternal grandfather, Clyde Sarnicola.

Funeral will be 10:30 Friday, March 18 at the Erie Federated Church. Burial will be in the Odense Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to an education fund established for her sons. I am so sorry about your loss! i am from Moran and my 13 year old daughter was killed at the Shaw corner a11 years ago. So I deeply share in your sympathy. I would like to take the hurt away but I know there is no possible way of doing that, but please know I am thinking of you and praying for you as well as the cooper boy. God Bless you all
