She was born June 5, 1941 to Carl Koenig and Lavon Groome Koenig in Chanute.
She married Dean Daniels on June 23, 1962.
She attended Kansas State University and graduated from Delta State University in Cleveland, Miss., with a Bachelor's of Science in Education, Master's of Education and Education Specialists degrees. She was a teacher in special education in Drew and Cleveland School Districts, and served as the director of testing in the Sunflower County School District. She also served as director of special education services and was school psychologist of the Cleveland School District. She was a founding member of Mississippi Association for Psychology in the schools (MAPS). She was a member of National Association of School Psychologists and served as a delegate and represented the state of Mississippi. She was also a member of Council for Exceptional Children.
She is survived by her husband, Dean Daniels, Cleveland, Miss.; daughters, Tempa Daniels Fleming and husband, Hal, Quitman, Miss., and Kendell Daniels Roberts and husband, Brad, Cleveland, Miss.; grandchildren Caleb Worsham, Charleston, Ill., Trevor Worsham, Edwardsville, Ill., and Griffith Roberts, Cleveland, Miss.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 28 at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Chanute from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Chanute. Honorary pall bearers will be John Schultz, Charlie Wiltse, Ed Jenkins, Gary Newton, Terry White and John Allen.
Memorials in her name may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital and may be left with the funeral home.
