He was born August 1, 1917 in Yates Center, the son of R.D. and Flo Bodie Sellers. He married Neola I. Johnson Dec. 27, 1941.
A veteran of World War II, he served three years in the South Pacific with the U.S. Army.
He worked for 33 years for Railway Express, and retired from Burlington Northern Railroad in 1979.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ottumwa.
Surviving are his wife, Neola; a daughter, Candace Doty, Grand Junction, Colo.; two grandchildren; a great-granddaugther; a brother, Virgil Sellers, Arkansas City; and many nieces and nephews.
