Loren L. Campbell, 80, Toronto, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. Loren was born on Jan. 16, 1929 in Guthrie, Okla., the son of James and Fern Marie Guthridge Campbell.

He was a graduate of Marshall, Texas High School. Right after high school Loren went into the United States Air Force; by 1948 he had reached rank of Sergeant and received his honorable discharge in 1949. After serving his country, Loren went to the Business College in Salina, where he received his degree in accounting.

Loren worked as an accountant for several years, doing taxes for people in the Toronto, Fredonia, and Chanute area. Loren enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He was a member of the American Legion Post 325 in Toronto.

Including several friends, Loren is survived by daughters, Suzanne Campbell, Hammond, La., Jackie Campbell, Pittsburg, Sarah Jane Campbell, Coffeyville; a son, Loren Campbell, Jr., Wichita; a sister,

Donna Price, Shreveport, La.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. today, Feb. 10 at Countryside Funeral in Fredonia with Pastor John Petty officiating. Due to the weather, burial will be private and held at a later date.
