Kathleen Ann “Kathy” Zdziemborski, 65, Chanute, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011 at the Neosho Memorial Medical Center in Chanute.

Kathy was born in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Nov. 14, 1945, the daughter of Melvin E. and Edna M. Smith Swogar. She received a Master’s degree from Emporia State College.

Kathy worked as an SRS counselor for the Social and Rehabilitation Services until her retirement.

She is survived by her children, Liz Phillips and her husband, Charlie, Chanute, Maxine Eubanks, Independence, Melvin Eubanks and his wife, Dawn, Chanute, and Pauline Brecheisen and her husband, W.R., Chanute; grandchildren, Deedra Bright, Franchon Sisney, Jamie Smith, Crystal Hole, and Kasynda Eubanks, all of Chanute, and Dawn Hole, Independence; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronnie Swogar, Olpe, and Warren Swogar; five sisters, Vickie Sheridan, Cherokee, Dora Ware, Pittsburg, Patty Page, Mapleton, Carolyn Compton, Bronson, and Karen Shields, Yates Center.She was preceded in death by her father, a grandson, Darren Bright, her grandparents and a sister, Connie Swogar.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. today, Feb. 9 at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute. Burial will be private.

Memorials in her name may be made to The American Cancer Society and may be left with the funeral home.
