Jack L. Bennett, 75, Grove, Okla., moved to Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011.

Jack leaves behind a family who loves him and will miss him, who will join him at a later time on God’s time table.

Jack worked in the grocery business for several years and later, he and Kay owned and operated Kay’s Hallmark Card and Gift Shop in Chanute for more than 30 years.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kay Matlock Bennett, Jay, Okla.; his three sons and two daughters, Rhonda and husband, Kenny Potter, Tulsa, Okla., Randy and wife, Linda Bennett, Springfield, Mo., Rick Bennett, Reeds Springs, Mo., Roger Bennett, Chanute, and Racy Bennett, Jenks, Okla. His seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren are Jessica and husband, Zach Grady, Texas City, Texas, Kayla Mullins and husband, David, and Abby, Kansas City, Mo., Kenton Bouman and wife, Deanna, and Phelix, Alseanna, Chaston and Emmaus, Tulsa, Dustin Bennett and wife, Michelle Billings, Mo., Nathan Bennett and Camry Lee Bennett, Chanute, Shane Snyder and wife, Brandy, Elizabeth, Kiley, and Killian, Oceanside, Calif., and Riley Bennett, Reed Springs; his sister, Chloe Tingey, Grove, Okla.; his brother, Jim Kidder and wife, Susan, Grove, Okla.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jack was preceded in death by his dad, Frank Bennett, his mother, Mary Helen Kidder, and his stepfather, Harold Kidder.

Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9 at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard with the Rev. John Donnelly officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until service time on Wednesday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home where friends may call after 1 p.m., Tuesday.

Kay & family,

Jack was a very sweet man. I enjoyed his presence at church every Sunday and Wednesday. He had a kind heart and was nice to everyone he met. He will be truely missed by everybody that loved him. My deepest condolences go out to you and your family.
