Thomas Edwin Johnson, 68, Chanute, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.
Thomas was born in Dalhart, Texas on April 18, 1942, the son of Guy and Betty Hayes Johnson. He graduated from high school and attended college for a short while.
He served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
Thomas was united in marriage to Theodora “Teddy” Spencer on Nov. 16, 1983. She survives, of the home.
He was a retired farmer and loved to “tinker.”
Along with his wife Theodora, he is survived by his children, Chris Johnson, Bonnie Vasquez, Amy Rear, Jon Moritz and Laurel Hall; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harvey Johnson; and two sisters, Molly Flemming and Betty Bitner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Betty Hayes Johnson; and a son, Stefan Moritz.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20 at the Chanute Church of Christ. Burial will be private.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Chanute Church of Christ and may be left with the funeral home.
