Reva Eileen Stanley Strange, 81, Grove, Okla., died Thursday, December 30, 2010. She was born Feb. 2, 1929 in Savonburg, the youngest child of H. Clyde and Edna M. McKinley Stanley.

Reva grew up in Erie and graduated from Chanute. She attended Chanute Junior College and then moved to Lawrence where she worked at the University of Kansas business office.

On June 1, 1948, Reva married her high school sweetheart, Bill D. Strange at the First Methodist Church in Chanute. They returned to Lawrence and then moved to Topeka where she went to work at the business office at Washburn University.

In 1958 they moved to Marysville, where they resided for 29 years until their retirement to Grand Lake in Grove, Okla.

Reva was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, and was an active Red Hatter. In 1969, she was initiated into the P.E.O. sisterhood and served her chapters in many offices including president. She was a charter member of Chapter GG in Grove.

Reva was preceded in death by her parents and her six brothers.

Surviving her are her husband, Bill, of the home; one son, Stan Strange and wife, Emily, Colby; two daughters, Debbie and husband ,John Vecchio, Muskogee, Okla., and Sheri Beck, Spiro, Okla.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A service celebrating Reva’s life will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Grove, the Reverend Teri Summers-Minette will officiate. Interment of Reva’s cremains will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Shaw Cemetery in Erie. Memorials may be made in Reva’s memory to the Grace Presbyterian Church Grove, Okla.
