James P. “Jim” Strasser, 64, St. Paul, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011 at the Prairie Mission Retirement Village at St. Paul.

He was born April 10, 1946 at Parsons, a son of Eugene Francis and Dorothy Marie Westhoff Strasser. He was raised in St. Paul and attended school there. After completing high school he worked at Ruskin Manufacturing, retiring in 2007. He was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church at St. Paul.

Survivors include two brothers, Francis J. Strasser, Parsons, Fred L. Strasser, Park City, Utah; three sisters, Eugenia “Jeannie” M. Sanchez, Greeley, Colo., Delores A. “Dee” Baker, Topeka, Virginia M. “Ginny” O’Connell, Lawrence

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at the St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Burial will be in the St. Francis Cemetery. The Parish and Knights of Columbus Rosaries will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at the church, with visitation following. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home at St. Paul. Memorials are suggested to the St. Francis Catholic Church or to the Prairie Mission Retirement Village Nurse’s Fund.
