Debbie S. Dansby, 53, Wichita, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at Harry Hyres Hospice, St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.
She was born on Sept. 16, 1957 to Ervestine Myra S. and Lawrence Elgin Curls.
After Debbie graduated high school, she attended Wichita State University for several years. During her lifetime, she was a food service provider in several fast food chains.
Debbie was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church of Newton.
She is survived by fiance, David Coleman, Newton; a daughter, Alisha Dansby, Wellington; two sons, Cornelius Dansby Jr., Newton, and Alan Dansby, Newton, KS; three brothers, Lawrence Curls, Jr., Chanute, Kirk Curls, Las Vegas, Nev., Reuban Curls, Fort Scott; six sisters, Bernadette Keeling, Cheryl Walker, Elaine Turner, all of California, Barbara Smith and Gloria Curls, Chanute, and Terrace Martin, Tulsa, Okla.; and eight grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was a daughter, Shyla Dansby.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 29 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow at the 2nd Baptist Church in Newton. Burial will be held on Thursday at the Elmwood Cemetary in Chanute.
Memorials may be sent to the Hillard Memorial Fund or the American Diabetes Foundation, in care of the funeral home. There will also be a donation fund in memory of Debbie Dansby in care of the funeral home.
