Consolacion C. Bacani, 94, longtime resident of Manila, Philippines, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. She had resided in Fredonia for the past nine years with her son, Dr. Oswaldo C. Bacani and his family. She was born April 16, 1916 in Bataan Province, Philippines, the daughter of Pedro and Severina Hernendez Cruz. She was a self-employed businesswoman all of her adult life, retiring in 1994.

Consolacion Cruz and Teodoro Bacani were united in marriage in Bataan Province, Philippines. He preceded her in death August 28, 1998.

She was a member of the San Roque Parish in Manila.

Survivors include four sons, Pastor Bacani, Manila, Philippines, Bishop Ted Bacani, Manila, Philippines, Oswaldo C. Bacani, MD, Fredonia, Rudy Bacani, Makati, Philippines; one daughter, Lucia Quimson, Manila, Philippines; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A Rosary followed by Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Church.

A memorial has been established in her name with the Fredonia Regional Health Care Foundation and can be sent to the funeral home, Timmons Funeral Home, PO Box 168, Fredonia, KS 66736.
