Everett Eugene Metzger, 69, a longtime resident of rural Fredonia, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1940 in Wichita, the son of Victor R. and Ethel M. Wait Metzger.

On July 10, 1961 in Fredonia, Everett was united in marriage with Mary Harper. She survives, at the home.

Everett was retired from the Fredonia Co-Op, where he was the general manager for more than 33 years.

He was a member of the Buxton Christian Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Mary, include a son, Dr. David Metzger, Norfolk, Va.; a daughter, Alisha Hammond, Emporia; a granddaughter; two brothers. Clifford Metzger. Salina, Alvin Metzger, Ponca City, Okla.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8 at Timmons Funeral Home. Private burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
