Geneva Pearl Louia, 83, longtime resident of Altoona, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha. She was born March 11, 1927 in Fairfax, Okla., the daughter of Aaron McCord and Pearl Elizabeth Gallatin Haines.
On April 1, 1944 in Wichita, she was married to Fred E. Louia. She and Fred made their home on the farm outside of Altoona for many years. He preceded her in death April 16, 2006. For several years, she was employed as a CNA at St. Margaret’s Mercy Hospital in Fredonia and Golden Keys Nursing Home in Neodesha.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Pratt, Altoona, Joyce Ayers, Altoona, Kathy Louia, Burlington; three sisters, Louise Keck, Mulvane, Virgie Marie Haines, Ponca City, Okla., Beulah Lorraine McNary, Augusta, two brothers, Franklin Haines, Fairfax, Okla., Max Aaron Haines, Fairfax, Okla.; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Two sons, Darrell Louia and Jimmy Dean Louia, and a great granddaughter, Ali Pratt, also preceded her in death.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2010 at the Altoona Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Verdigris Valley Christian Fellowship in Altoona prior to the graveside, from 10 a.m. to noon.
