Robert J. Wright, 64, Iola, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.
Robert was born on Feb. 3, 1946 in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Robert Verdine and Edna Grace Gabler Wright. He graduated from Elk Grove High School in California and received his Master’s degree in Communications and Technology.
Robert served his country for more than 30 years, in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and Air Force National Guard. He served in Vietnam, Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
After his retirement from the armed forces, he worked various jobs in technology, and worked at Kustom Signals as an electronics technician.
He was united in marriage to Jodie Katherine Perrymeant on Nov. 16, 2000 in Shawnee County.
Robert is survived by his wife, Jodie K. Wright; children, Robert Simpson, Bill Simpson, Misty Luebke, Joshua Wright, Autumn Wright, Jon Wright, Crystal Wright, Amanda Wright, Christian Wright and Teagan Perrymeant; 11 grandchildren and a brother, Larry Wright.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Military burial will be Friday, Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. at the Fort Scott National Cemetery.
