Phyllis Dickens, 81, a 14-year resident of Fredonia, formerly of Anaheim, California, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Fredonia Regional Hospital. She was born on Jan. 20, 1929, in Providence, R.I. to Jose and Francelina (dej Pavao) Silva.

On Nov. 5, 1954, she married Ronald T. Dickens in Folkston, Ga. He survives at their home in Fredonia.

Other survivors include one daughter, Cheryle Dougherty, San Jose, Calif.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

As per Phyllis’ request, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials have been established in her name with the American Cancer Society and Harry Hynes Memorial hospice and can be sent to the funeral home.
