Phyllis Ann Lawrence, 71, Burlington, died Sunday, December 28, 2008, at her home.

She was born March 26, 1937, southwest of Burlington to Wayne M. and Ruth G. Underwood Douglass. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1956.

She married William Robert “Bob” Lawrence on Feb. 26, 1956, in Burlington. He survives.

She retired as office manager from Chanute-based Home Savings and Loan in Burlington.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in Burlington.

Other survivors include a son, Doug Lawrence, Burlington; a daughter, Christina Lawrence, Dover, N.H.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger Douglass, Burlington; and a half-sister, Lavon Haney, Burlington.

Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home, Burlington. Burial will follow at Big Creek Cemetery, southwest of Burlington.

The family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
