Mary Rose Volmer, 81, of St. Paul, died at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Frontenac.
She was born on July 17, 1929, in Chanute to Don and Thekla (Janssen) Beard. She and Michael J. Diskin were married July 19, 1948, at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. He preceded her in death Feb. 9, 1974.

Mehrle “Mac” McDermed, 92, Pittsburg, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at his home.
He was born on July 6, 1918, in Walnut to Floyd and Mae Lewis McDermed. He attended Walnut schools. Mehrle worked for P&M Coal Company for 40 years.
He owned and operated Mac’s Aircraft Repair for 30 years at Pittsburg Municipal Airport.
