Early morning fire damages home
Tribune staff A family of three were uninjured but the home at 221 N. Lafayette sustained an estimated $55,000 damage in an early morning blaze on Tuesday. Census data ranks cities
Findings of the 2010 Census Bureau’s American Community Survey results were released last week. It marked the first time in nearly a decade that officials of small and medium-sized cities have seen fresh demographic data about their cities. There were 286 cities listed in several categories. Area jobless rates increase
Although Kansas businesses added jobs in November, the unemployment rate increased over the previous month. The November unemployment rate in Kansas was 6.7 percent, according to a Kansas Department of Labor report. That figure is up from 6.4 in October and from 6.3 in November 2009.
